Scoring System For the Quiz Championship
The scoring system is designed to avoid teams setting questions that will result in low scores. A similar system is now used in formula 1 motor racing.
Grand Prix Points Scored Based on Position

This table shows that a team finishing first in a particular quiz will score 10 points, second 8 third 6 etc. Note that if two or more teams tie on the same score they both get the higher number of Grand Prix Points. If two teams tie for second they will both get 8 points and fourth will get 5 points.
